I am a fourth-year Neuroscience PhD student in the HSC Lab. I am interested in using intracranial EEG to study how neural activity arising from sensory representations and movement interact with subcortical brain structures to support episodic memory and spatial navigation.

Sameer Sabharwal-Siddiqi

Psychology Ph.D. Student

Sameer Sabharwal-Siddiqi is a PhD student at the lab. Past research interests span attention, decision-making, emotional attribution, and the role of self-awareness in memory. At the Human Spatial Cognition laboratory, he is invested in directing these interests towards the topic of navigation. He is especially interested in the possibility of combining brain-imaging and VR-based navigation to reveal neural-correlates of spatiotemporal experience

Sabina Srokova, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Fellow

I am a postdoctoral fellow working with Dr. Arne Ekstrom and Dr. Carol Barnes. My graduate work employed fMRI and eye-tracking to examine the behavioral and neural correlates of episodic memory in healthy young and older adults. I currently use fMRI and immersive virtual reality to study the effects of age on spatial memory abilities.

Research Specialist

I’m a Clinical Research Specialist at the Human Spatial Cognition Lab. I am interested in people’s individual differences in memory and spatial navigation ability, especially between old and young adults.

Matthew Watson

Research Technician

I am a research technician experienced with game engine software development. I use this expertise to troubleshoot and develop Virtual Reality (VR) experiments conducted by the Human Spatial Cognition Lab. I have personal interest in psycholinguistic topics and in exploring what is possible with VR experiments relating to navigation and memory.

Research Technician

I am a research technician with a degree in computer science. I use my programming knowledge to develop eye tracking, troubleshooting, and analysis work. My interest in psychology stems from my sisters having degrees in Psychology, learning more about the mind and how VR can help with memory and navigation.

I am a senior undergraduate neurobiology data collector with experience working with virtual reality, MRI scanning, and animal subjects. I am interested in human behavior, healthy aging, neurogenetic diseases, and how it affects human behavior.
