Infertility and Risk of Breast, Gynecologic, and Colorectal Cancer (04/2021-03/2023)

The purpose of this project is to investigate the association between infertility, infertility diagnoses, reproductive history, and postmenopausal cancer using data from the Women’s Health Initiative. 

Reproductive Health and COVID-19 (01/2021- 11/2021)

The purpose of this project is to understand the impact of COVID-19 infection, COVID-19 vaccination, and the COVID-19 pandemic on reproductive health. Among a subsample of participants we will collect biological samples to measure cortisol, AMH, and the vaginal microbiome 

Endometriosis, Infertility, and Risk of Stroke (07/2020-06/2022)

The goal of this project is to investigate the relationship between endometriosis, infertility, and the risk of stroke by using self-reported data and biomarkers of cardiovascular disease from participants in the Nurses’ Health Study.

Infertility History and Chronic Disease Profile (5/2019-4/2024)
R01 HD096033; Missmer (PI)
The goal of this project is to combine data from the Nurses’ Health Study II on women’s infertility and infertility treatment history, stored blood samples collected at two-time points during follow-up, and genome-wide data to investigate the relationship between infertility and the risk of breast cancer, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, including inflammatory, cardiometabolic, hormonal, and genetic profiles.

Subfertility and Assisted Conception Study of Parent and Child (7/2016-3/2021)

This study evaluates the effect of parental subfertility-related diagnoses on the health of women and their children and the associated healthcare costs through linkage of assisted reproductive technology data from the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology Clinic Outcome Reporting System and vital records data in Massachusetts.

Inhaled Environmental Exposures and Anti-Mullerian Hormone Levels, A Marker of Reproductive Health (10/2019-9/2020)
SWEHSC Pilot Project; Farland (PI)
This study investigates the influence of firefighting on women’s reproductive health and proposes to measure anti- Mullerian hormone (AMH) among a cohort of female firefighters. 

Occupational Exposure to Nursing, Modifiable Risk Factors, and Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes (8/2019-7/2020)

The goal of this pilot project is to develop questionnaires and wearable device protocols that examine the breadth, prevalence, and consequences of occupational exposures during pregnancy among nurses.

The goal of this pilot project is to investigate whether women with endometriosis have other adverse cardiometabolic outcomes, specifically type 2 diabetes (T2D).

AfteR Treatment Study (7/2017-6/2018)
