JEDI: Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
The Personalized Treatment Lab believes first and foremost in the importance of individualized, accessible mental health care for all. In our work, we aim to minimize the impact of systemic inequalities and barriers to treatment access, especially for historically marginalized and diverse groups. In line with this, our lab is open and welcome to all and we celebrate the unique set of characteristics each individual brings to the table: our backgrounds, identities, and life experiences help diversify and inform the work we do. The PTL does not tolerate any behavior that is discriminatory in nature or minimizes the lived experience of others.
Open Science
In our research work, we value transparency, reliability, and reproducibility. As part of this, we aim to participate in pre-registering hypotheses and preliminary research protocols through the Open Science Foundation to minimize the effects of bias in our work. We believe peer review, collaboration, adhering to established guidelines, data sharing, and accurate statistical analyses are vital to progress in our field.
Mentorship
Our lab is passionate about providing opportunities for undergraduates, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows interested in personalized treatment, digital interventions, digital phenotyping, and/or treatment innovation. Learning from each other strengthens us as a collective, and we are happy to discuss potential mentorship options.
