In this time of uncertainty for libraries, leadership has to remain calm and focused. Making libraries relevant requires steady leadership, effective marketing, outstanding hiring, and successful strategic planning. Gone are the days when libraries are given large budgets. Libraries are under attack all across the country. Book banning and censorship are routinely in the news. We must defend the library, it’s core value, and it’s place in society.

A little bit about me. I would like to think I am an accomplished educator and librarian with an extensive background in teaching, instructional design, and library management. I currently serve as the Library Director and Educational Support Faculty Librarian at Pima Community College’s Distance Education Division, where I have been since November 2014.

I am deeply committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusive learning environments, leveraging technology to enhance student learning and success. My extensive experience spans from providing information literacy instruction and reference services to developing and implementing innovative educational resources and workshops. With multiple master’s degrees in Education and Information Resources, my dedication to student achievement and continuous improvement in academic settings is evident through his comprehensive teaching portfolio, publications, and involvement in professional development activities.
