Hugo is a Visiting Research Scholar who joined the RNNL in May 2024 to conduct a research stay under the mentorship of Dr. Romero-Ortega. He is a Ph.D. student in Brain Research at the Brain Research Institute of the University of Veracruz in Veracruz, Mexico. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering with a minor in Automation Process from Instituto Tecnologico Superior de Xalapa. He has teaching experience in the subjects “Sensors and Actuators for Biomedical Systems” and “DC Circuit Analysis” within the Biomedical Engineering program at the University of Veracruz. Currently, he is developing a project focused on the simultaneous neurophysiological activity recording between the kidney and spleen in an experimental animal model of hypertension. Additionally, he collaborates in projects related to Pelvic Floor Neuromodulation and Peripheral Neural Interfaces.
