My current research interests include the specific areas of project delivery methods and sustainable infrastructure as well as the broad areas of construction management, project management, and transportation. Engineering publications are listed below.
Current Research
Building Pathways is a $1 million NSF funded project (2023-2026). The overarching project goal is to apply evidence-based practices in an intersectional study to identify interventions that are most effective at the departmental level and to transfer knowledge gained to other University of Arizona College of Engineering programs as well as to other institutions. A comprehensive set of student interventions (student cohorts, internships, professional workshops, industry mentors, faculty mentors) is proposed during the freshman and sophomore years. We focus on early program years as they are critical for student retention and persistence. Our research objectives include evaluating the impact of these activities on persistence, retention, advancement rate and overall academic performance as well as a sense of belonging and engineering identity.
NCHRP recently funded research to address the need for national guidance on ACM contract administration.
