What is Design-Build Delivery?

Design-build delivery is a comprehensive process where one entity, the design-builder, enters into a single contract with the owner to provide both design and construction services. Design-build fosters trust, respect, innovation, creative problem-solving, collaboration and teamwork between the owner, designer, and builder from initial conception to construction completion.

Objective of the DBIA-UA Chapter

The Design-Build Institute of America is a not for profit student run chapter of DBIA dedicated to promoting widespread and successful utilization of the design-build project delivery method in shaping the built environment. To accomplish this goal, the chapter will work in a democratic manner within the framework of University policies and procedures in fostering interdisciplinary education and communication relative to integrated facilities delivery.

This goal will be facilitated through active participation and interaction of Student Chapter members with:

● Local DBIA professionals and corporations

● Students and faculty in design and construction-related disciplines

● Local professional organizations representing architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, general contracting, law and government

● National DBIA programs and services

The Student Chapter will work to develop a strong working partnership between students and industry professionals regarding the education and research objectives required for the continued growth and excellence of design-build.
