Jonny Wu, Associate Professor, University of Arizona

Research areas: plate tectonics, structural geology, tectonics, geodynamics, sedimentary basins, energy and mineral exploration geoscience, East Asia and North America Cordillera tectonics.

Research within the unifying theme of plate tectonics using a multi-disciplinary approach.

Techniques and datasets include: plate tectonic analysis, seismic tomography, sedimentary basin analysis, analog modeling, machine learning/AI, seismic interpretation, geodynamic modeling, field geology, geochronology and geochemistry.

Graduates from our group progress to academia, including postdocs and tenure-track faculty positions, or to industry in the fields of energy, environment, government institutes, or consultancy.
