Jonny Wu, Associate Professor, University of Arizona

Research areas: plate tectonics, structural geology, tectonics, geodynamics, sedimentary basins, energy and mineral exploration geoscience, East Asia and North America Cordillera tectonics.

Structural Geology and Tectonics research on Earth evolution and structure in 4D from subsurface structure, plate tectonics, geology, and geophysics.

Techniques and datasets include: seismic interpretation, tomographic slabs, basin analysis, magma geochemistry, analog models, AI & machine learning, geodynamic models, and plate tectonics.

Graduates from our group progress to academia, including postdocs and tenure-track faculty positions, or to industry (energy, environment, government institutes, or consultancy).
