Alfred Joshy is a PhD student in Systems and Industrial Engineering at the University of Arizona. His research focuses on additive manufacturing, with an emphasis on laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) build time prediction, the effects of process parameters, and experimental validation. He is also part of the CADCAST project (CAD Cost Analysis for AM-Enhanced Sand and Investment Casting), which brings together academic, and industry partners to develop cost-estimation models across seven manufacturing processes: binder jetting sand casting, DLP ceramic investment casting, lost-PLA investment casting, LPBF, machining, investment casting, and sand casting.
