In our laboratory we investigate the interplay between the cerebral vasculature and progression of neurodegenerative diseases. Our main research interest is to identify mechanisms by which neurodegenerative processes affect blood vessels in the brain, and how alterations in blood vessel function speeds up cognitive decline. The long-term goal of our research is to find new targets for therapies to improve quality of life of patients with chronic diseases that lead to dementia.
